Welcome to my blog! I’ve had an interest in social media since MySpace first came into being. That fascination has grown over the years, particularly now that I work within Public Relations. There seems to be an abundance of information on the web about the role of social media within PR, which is wonderful. But I’m more interested in how that platform functions within the arena of corporate PR. That’s where this blog comes in.
It’s a learning curve, and no doubt a steep one. But if my questions help bring about answers for others reading this blog, then all the better. It’s a new world and one I’m delighted to be a part of.
As for me, I come from a journalism background. Hopefully that will provide me with a unique perspective. I’m immersed in social media, from Facebook and Twitter, to Linkedin and Flickr. Now, as I work within corporate PR, I want to increase my knowledge in the hopes of gaining eventual expertise. It’s where the future lies, in my opinion. And I want to be a part of that!
